the traction is as expected of a speedgoat, the comfort is plush as i have known speedgoats to be... the upper is new for me, since this is the first speedgoat mid that i will be wearing... i just hope the waterproofing is as advertised.

I've loved hoka since I first started running with it (speedgoat 1 and Arahi 2), but durability has been an issue with my first ones. Sole separation is fast for this brand... So I decided to give the speedgoat mids a try hoping this next iteration is better... Lo and behold, aside from the perfect fit and comfort, I can see the outer layer / rubberised print of sorts, starting to peel or crack, and this comes in only after a few weeks of walking and 6k single run. Stability is ok, but responsiveness is really low. Recently had an ankle injury due to uneven ground, because I couldn't feel what I was stepping on. Maximalist shoes tend to be like this... Need to stick your eyes to where you're stepping on which sucks when you're in a race. I love the feel on my feet, especially on trail, "BUT" it breaks down easily. I'm just not sure if Toby's will replace them this way, with only a few weeks, it wears out... but I think I will just continue to wear this pair down and see how long they can hold up, as I'm on the trail very often. Fingers crossed.
