In Depth Explanation on Tiebreakers
In the tables below we can see how Teams 1, 2, and 3 are tied on wins. As such the result for 1st seed will be determined by the point differential resulting in Team 1 qualifying. Then for the Wild card the point differentials among all the second seeds in the group will be used to determine the wild card. If 2 teams in the same groups have the same point differential then the head to head result between those two teams will determine who advances.
If 2 teams in different groups have the same point differential then their head to head result against their top seed will be used. As such if Team A beat their groups top seed, while Team B lost to their groups top seed, then Team A would advance. However if both teams lose then the point differential from the game against their top seed would be used. So if Team A and B both lost to their groups top seed, however Team A’s score was 8-11 while Team B’s score was 7-11, then team A would advance. If both teams are still tied after this then the duration of their game with their groups top seed will be considered with the team that took longer to lose qualifying. If both teams are still tied after this then the tournament director will flip a coin with each team choosing a face.
Matchups for the quarter finals will be randomized, the group winners and wild cards will be assigned numbers 1 to 8 then numbers will be pulled for the matchups in front of representatives from each team for transparency and integrity.
