Many people are opting to pursue their fitness goals in the comfort of their own homes by investing their time learning about home workout routines and spending hard-earned money into all kinds of fitness equipment for their homes. And with the global pandemic still in full swing, it’s easy to see why.
The importance of physical fitness has been emphasized even further over the past year, especially since a lot of gyms and sporting facilities have been closed to the public.
If you’re a beginner who wants to dive in and join the home fitness movement, here are some of the attributes you need to focus on when building your own workout routine.
Power
No matter what level of fitness you want to attain, developing your power is definitely important to improve your physical health.
Workouts that incorporate medicine balls, boxes, and barbells help foster this development. But if you don’t have any of these at home, you can always incorporate plyometrics in your workouts.
Plyometrics is a type of exercise training that uses speed and force of explosive movements to build muscle power. So, exercises like pushups, jump squats, lunges, etc., and sports that incorporate a lot of running, jumping, punching and/or kicking fall under this category.

Mobility
Mobility is an aspect of fitness where we can always improve. This part of fitness is often overlooked because for many people, being swole is their image of fitness.
It’s important to know that staying flexible plays an important part in maintaining a functional level of mobility. It also helps your joints stay safe and become stronger for lifting weights by improving your range of motion.
Thankfully, being at home gives us the perfect situation to make this an integral part of your training. Mobility exercises don’t require a lot of equipment. More often than not, a couch or chair can serve as a perfect platform for you to work on your mobility with minimal set up. And if you want an added challenge, incorporating resistance band to your mobility exercises would take it to another level.

Strength
Strength may be the most difficult part of fitness we can develop at home since our access to heavy weights in gyms has been limited.
But with a little creativity, simple bodyweight exercises can become more challenging and improve your gains overall. If you don’t have any dumbbells or barbells at home, using a backpack full of books or old plastic bottles filled tap water with can serve as a great alternative.
If you want to lift heavier weights though, you could always get the ergonomic, space-saving dumbbells and kettlebells.

Conditioning
Cardiovascular exercises are arguably the easiest kinds of exercises to incorporate in home workouts. A lot of conditioning training only needs your bodyweight for resistance.
Squat jumps, mountain climbers, jumping jacks, burpees, etc.; incorporating these exercises to your workout can greatly improve your conditioning. And if you’re in need of a machine, getting a treadmill or a stationary bike is always a great choice.
